IMPACT Wrestling on November 17, 2022, will feature the last semi-final match in the X-Division Championship Tournament as PJ Black faces Black Taurus, Jessicka will face Tasha Steelz, Tommy Dreamer will face Steve Maclin in a match based on Old-School ECW rules, and Eric Young will battle Sami Callihan in a Double Jeopardy Match.
In a match that featured the return of Tommy Dreamer, Rhino, Taylor Wilde, and Matt Cardona, Bully Ray, a former TNA World Champion in his own right, won the Call Your Shot Gauntlet by last eliminating Steve Maclin at Bound For Glory 2022.
Impact Wrestling has fallen in popularity since its peak days under the TNA branding, but with Scott D'Amore at the helm, the company has found its niche within the wrestling landscape, even featuring working relationships with a number of companies including AEW and New Japan Pro Wrestling.
While 2022 was an extremely strong year for Impact, with Josh Alexander's coronation, Jordynne Grace's reign as Knockouts Champion, and Mike Bailey's run in the X Division, the company would still have its faults. Over the past 12 months, these would be the worst Impact Wrestling matches of 2022.
Holding both the AAA Women's Championship and the ROH Women's Championship earlier this year, Deonna Purrazzo would reign in Impact Wrestling as the so-called "Champ Champ". In doing so, she would regularly host open challenges, with one taking place at No Surrender 2022. At the event, she would defend the ROH Women's Championship against former Ring of Honor star, Miranda Alize.
Facing off on the May 13, 2022 edition of Impact Wrestling on AXS TV, Shera and Singh would ultimately fall in defeat against the babyface team, though it just felt entirely pointless for all involved while failing to raise anyone's stock. On top of that, the match would fail to be very good at all, thanks to Shera and Singh who are two of the least compelling wrestlers in the company.
A truly bizarre match this year would take place in March 2022, with Lady Frost, Gisele Shaw, and Deonna Purrazzo facing off in a Triple Threat Match with one of Deonna's belts on the line. The story of the match was in regard to Frost and Shaw's ongoing feud somehow working its way into Deonna offering to fight them both.
What fans were treated to instead was Purrazzo getting taken out of the match almost immediately, with Frost and Shaw basically wrestling a singles match for several minutes before Deonna would come back in for the finish. It rarely felt like a triple threat, barely furthered the rivalry between Frost & Shaw, and also made Deonna look cheap and cowardly in the process.
At 2021's Bound for Glory PPV, Impact delivered not only one of their own worst matches of the year, but one of the worst matches in all of wrestling for 2021. While the 2022 edition of the match was far from the truly terrible quality of its predecessor, it would still end up being one of the company's worst matches of the year.
Built around Steve Maclin lasting nearly the entire match, things would look bright for a star who has been on the rise in Impact after a stellar run in 2022. Things would take a turn when Bully Ray made his surprise return to the company, defeating Maclin cleanly to win the Call Your Shot Gauntlet and earn a World Championship Match. It was overly-long and featured Bully Ray defeating the younger Maclin, a baffling decision.
Following a fantastic match that saw Deonna Purrazzo win the ROH Women's Championship from Rok-C, one of the breakout women's stars of 2022 within WWE NXT, The Virtuosa would begin defending the belt in open challenges, with Santana Garrett being one of her first challengers.
Wrestling on the Febuary 10, 2022 episode of Impact Wrestling, Garrett and Purrazzo would go at it for nearly 10 minutes, though not much of the match would be very good. It felt like the chemistry was just not there with these two, as the match would be the weakest of Deonna's entire "Champ Champ" Reign. Deonna would win the match before going on to hold her ROH Championship until the spring, where she would lost to AEW's Mercedes Martinez.
At one of Impact's final Impact Plus Special for 2022, The Death Dollz would put their Knockouts Tag Team Titles on the line against the duo of Tasha Steelz and Savannah Evans. With Jessicka and Taya representing their faction, this would certainly leave a lot to be desired.
Facing off against Madison Rayne and Kaleb with a K in an intergender match, The IInspiration would put on one of the worst bouts of 2022 for Impact, with it being hurt by less than stellar ring work and a story that was extended far past its expiration date.

After being declared not guilty by insanity, Bhasin was ordered to be confined at the Northern Virginia Mental Health Institute in 2019. After three years of treatment, doctors said that Bhasin was well enough to leave the facility. Alexandria City Circuit Judge Lisa B. Kemler signed a conditional release order on May 19, 2022.
While it is unclear exactly when Bhasin applied, he was accepted into the Master of Business Administration program at Mason for the Fall 2022 semester. According to the Master of Business Administration application, there are no options to indicate whether an applicant has committed a felony. Due to the not guilty by insanity ruling, Bhasin does not have any criminal record and was promptly accepted into the program. On the topic of mental health, it is under the discretion of the applicant to disclose any mental health struggles, according to Inside Higher Ed.
Erie, Pa. - Mercyhurst Football continues to stay in the news with a former member of the team making a big splash as former Mercyhurst running back Garrett Owens was drafted to the XFL Wednesday. Owens heard his name called in the second round of the 2022 XFL Draft by the Houston Roughnecks as he now continues his time on the gridiron. The XFL revived itself in 2020 as a competitor with the NFL, CFL, AFL, etc., and has seen continual growth due to the true talent with Owens joining that group.
The former Laker spoke on the impact that his move to the XFL can have on those now currently at Mercyhurst, saying "Don't ever let anyone tell you you can't do something, including yourself. That's what I left the young guys with when I left and I live that today." 781b155fdc
